Murray Ruffell – President. A Harrier man really but has taken the helm of the Athletics club since 2017. Has been involved in the club for many years along with his wife, Jan, & children.

Gill Michel – Secretary & Facilities Manager

With the Facilities role I am responsible for the overall management of our clubrooms.   This includes ensuring the building and grounds are kept clean and tidy, taking all bookings from people wanting to hire our rooms and being on site to open up, help set up and clean up afterwards.   I handle all inquiries that come to the club via email, phone calls or texts and am first on call if the alarms are accidentally set off, or in the evening if they have not been set. I am also the club representative on the Northland Athletics and Gymnastics Stadium Trust (NAGST) committee that oversees the total management of the Trigg Sports Arena.

Lucy Andrews – Treasurer

Joined the club and the committee in 2017. Loves running any distance from 60m to 10 000m. Also a keen Hammer thrower. Took on the role of Club development coordinator in 2019.

Oringa Barach – Chair – Senior Athletics ( with husband Brian.)

 A life member whose been in the club since 1993. Has had long stints on the committee as Club president, club secretary, club Captain & Harrier Chairperson. Loves organising events such as the 3 pigs, participating in club activities & socialising with the members. We don’t know what we’d do without her!

Judith Stewart  - Masters Representative

I  have been a member since 2016 

I have competed in  many  different aspects of Athletics but the middle distance events have always been important to me. 

I always aim at the beginning of the harrier season to compete in the NZ cross country and NZ Road Champs  as that was  where you  judged yourself against fellow Master athletes.

I also compete in the Masters track events both here & overseas .

At the World Masters Athletics Champs,  I have had  gold in the 10,000m track and did a world record for the 3k steeplechase many years ago.

Ian Babe – Patron

First joined the club committee in 1956. Has been President several times.

Main interest areas in Athletics are governance, competition & coaching.

He has coached club members from entry level to National class & several athletes to international levels in a variety of disciplines & is still mentoring & coaching.
