'Coaching is critical for the ongoing development of our club athletes' (Ian Babe)
Ugen Iyer is our new sprint coach. She participated at a National level in the sprint events all through high school in South Africa, where she was born. After moving to NZ competitive athletics took a bit of a back step and she has recently decided to come back to the sport as a Masters athlete. She is the current Oceania's Champion for the 100m and 200m sprint events for her division and holds the NZ record for the indoor 50m sprint.
Having a wealth of experience as an athlete, she is hoping to pass some of that knowledge and experience onto our younger sprint athletes.
She has a very proactive approach to coaching and is committed to her sport and her athletes.
Ugen is registered with Athletics New Zealand as an official community coach.
